137 Sisters Inducted into the Order of Sisters of Compassion

The dedication service of the 14th batch of Sisters of Compassion was held at the St. Thomas Believers Eastern Church Cathedral on 3 January 2020.

Moran Mor Athanasius Yohan I Metropolitan officiated the solemn service where 137 sisters dedicated themselves to selflessly serve the most neglected and forgotten ones in the society, the widows, leprosy patients, orphans and slum-dwellers.

During the time of dedication, Moran Mor Athanasius Yohan I Metropolitan presented each of them with a silver cross.

“Every morning before you adorn the cross, you are to kiss the cross, and you are to remember the cross represents Christ, and you are His light as you go out into the world,” Moran Mor Athanasius Yohan I Metropolitan said in his homily.
