Believers Church Jorhat Diocese held a poverty alleviation program on 28th April 2014. One hundred and four families were benefited by the program.
Bishop B. Sunderraj distributed the gifts among the people. The gifts included tin sheets, sewing machines, piglets, wheelchairs, goats and bicycles.
Mrs. Rashmi (Sub-Divisional Officer) was the chief guest of the program. In her short speech she said that, “I have never seen such an amazing social work like this and the way the church takes care of the poor and marginalized people in our society. I am extremely grateful to Believers Church and its leaders for the love and care that they have demonstrated to our people through the gifts.”
“I am from a very poor family and had no good house to stay in,” said Bro. Deepak; “my wife and kids spend sleepless nights in the rainy season. Now with the help of tin sheets we can sleep peacefully even in the rainy season.”
Believers Church provides hundreds of free income-generating gifts to poor and needy people to break the cycle of poverty.
