Believers Church Diocese of Shillong organized a community development program in an interior village on 30th July 2016.
A majority of people in this village work in coal mines to eke out a living. They are very poor and live with just the bare necessities of life. Many of them did not even have a proper roof for their house which brought untold misery to them every monsoon.
Learning about the situation, the diocese decided to supply roofing materials to the neediest families residing in this village. Thus, on 30th July, the church distributed tin sheets to a total of 110 families. Each family received three bundles of tin sheets that day.
The beneficiaries expressed their joy and gratitude to the church for this kind help.
